Heart of Midnight by Kimberly Zant

Summary:
Fate does a double whammy on Amy, pitching her first into the path of a serial killer, and then into the hands of Kyle Whitehorse. Kyle rescues her, but he suspects she's one of the agents pursuing him and his brand of interrogation ignites a conflagration that threatens to consume both of them.

Heart of Midnight is one of those books I could not get into, because the way it was written turned me against the book. I like to have my facts up front. In this book Amy is running away from a serial killer, when she runs in to Kyle. Kyle is hiding from his pursers and believes Amy is one of them. He rescues Amy from the killer and then the fun begins. This is where I had problems, why is Kyle tying her up and questioning her. We don’t get the answer why until later, so it seemed a little bit weird at the time.

I have to give this book 3 stars and wish it had been extended, so we could have learned more and received the information up front. The author had the chance when her story was re-released and it was a missed opportunity.
