Julianne is captivated by the wounded stranger she believes is a revolutionary hero. Until she discovers the truth…her “hero” is the privileged earl of Bedford. Now Julianne must navigate the intrigues of a perilous city, the wild yearnings of her own heart and the explosion of their passion…

An Englishman that speak perfect French and is so good at his work that he mistaken for a French nobleman when in fact he is an English earl. Brenda Joyce's latest work introduces us to a half English, half French earl who is a spy during the French revolution, which is about to get a whole lot more interesting.

Another magnificent story by Brenda Joyce, who is known for her historical romance. She presents both sides of the war while introducing a group of characters that seem worlds apart due to their beliefs but might have closer connections than they think.

4 stars and I hope we get more insight into the secondary characters that play a role in this novel. In one of the upcoming books in this series, I would love to see the wedding of Julianne and Dominic, as there would certainty be a scandal considering the hero’s connections and heroine‘s family have an interesting past.
