I have anticipated this third book in the Highlander series and it was worth the wait! Once again we are back in the highlands and the focus is now on the McNabs, whose ancestors’ poor decision has left the clan in dire straits.

It's a book that we can draw parallels to today’s society with the issue of poverty, economy, and fighting and I kept thinking of those parallels as I read the book. I must also say the tomboy heroine who will do anything for the clan was a huge plus for me. She's not afraid of anything and her journey into becoming who she is, is brilliantly captured in the writing style.

Yes, the author has taken creative license in changing some historical facts, but I liked the short note at the end where she mentioned these things. I have to give the book four stars.
